KOLI REGION

Koli’s peak has been a Finnish landmark for thousands of years and is still one of Finland’s most venerated national landscapes. Koli Cultura is located on a hillside landscape aside Koli’s national park, next to the pond of Purnulampi.

Koli naturally exudes cultural history, which traces back from Kalevala to Sibelius up to the present day. Over billions of years, nature has turned Koli into a multifaceted piece of art that can be accessed without an entrance fee.

Koli is a holistic natural and cultural refuge where one can enjoy the silence of the forests, stunning lakeside sceneries, vistas endorsed by artists, the wilderness of the hills, white quartzite cliffs, snow-covered woods, bright birch woods and the splendorous plant life of the meadows as well as a quaint feeling of times past at restored heritage sites.
